Breaking the Grass Ceiling : Women Making an Impact

Just this past Thursday I partnered with Humble Bloom, Lucas Lucas and Dyana Applebaum to produce my first event for SHAW. - Breaking the Grass Ceiling : Women Making an Impact. It was a jam packed night of conversation, music, community, love and (well, you know...) weed.

I've been to a few cannabis panels and they usually feature white men and women sharing how the growth of the industry is opening up space for luxury brands to exist. Okay, great, so what about the social justice work that must be done? In true Shaw. nature our panel was women focused and featured women only. While we understand that to get the hard work accomplish we must work together, we wanted to share the woman voice - she is strong and loud and she has a lot to say when you give her the mic so, pass that shit.

Joining us on this panel were Keira Duarte: Marketing Director of Mary Magazine, Brittany Carbone: Founder of Tonic CBD, Amanda Reyes: President of The Cannabis Cultural Association and Safon Floyd of EstroHaze. These women discussed everything from how the industry markets to women to how women (and people of color) can find capital to start their cannabis companies.

Then the party started. Magdalena serenaded us with a wonderful musical performance followed by a set by Dj Y3lda. Our beautiful drinks were sponsored by Aurora Elixirs and we had a few fun treats floating around :). Our vendors for the night included Yew Yew, Brins Jam, Terrestrial Roots and Pussy Weed

I am so full of gratitude from this event. Our New York cannabis community is in full effect and we are ready to get this movement on the road. More events are coming soon - make sure you are signed up for the newsletter to get updates on what's happening!
